I am the first Aboriginal person with disability to lead Aboriginal disability research at a scholarly level and am the most published in the world. I am an outstanding leader across research, teaching and governance and have an exceptional record of commitment to service in local Aboriginal communities, the academic community, and international community. I have shown a consistent upwards trajectory in my career being awarded over $10mil as a CI in disability research grants. My research has made significant impact on the development of the NDIS and other policies relating to people with disability.

Lived Experience: Hearing what the newly proposed changes by the NDIS mean for participants

  • Delving into the community's unique perspective on what constitutes quality in disability support, which may differ from conventional standards

  • Highlighting specific obstacles faced by individuals with disabilities under current and proposed NDIS frameworks

  • Discussing what reform changes, particularly changes in risk parameters, mean for how individuals with disabilities access and are assessed for care services
